Arthur Leslie BRADSHAW was born in 1921 (Ely Q4-1921 3B:793), son of Arthur and Mabel BRADSHAW (née JORDON) of Sutton, Cambs. He attended Soham Grammar School from 1931 to 1939
At Mepal Road, Sutton in the 1939 register were his father Arthur [6-12-1881] smallholder; his mother Mabel [13-4-1889]; brothers Alfred W [23-12-1913] and John D [1-9-1918] land workers assisting father; sister Doris M [27-9-1915] later PEACOCK and then McAULEY. One closed record. |
At 18:15 on 22nd October 1941, he took off in Vickers Wellington 1C, ser.no.T2967, call sign JN-J from RAF Snaith on a bombing raid on Mannheim.
They were shot down, on the outward journey, by flak around 21:30, crashed and exploded on the western outskirts of Ramsbach,just NE of Koblenz.
